I use leftover scraps of fabrics to create these patchwork potholders. Sizes vary somewhat depending on pattern used. They will fall in the 8-9 inch square range (about 23 cm). Photos show the mats with a small size saucepan for reference.

Each mat is constructed with two inner layers, one is regular quilt batting and the other is a thermal batting called InsulBright. This makes a nice thick, sturdy hot mat that will last and handle all your baking and kitchen needs. Easy care, just throw in with your regular laundry.
